DEDICATED TO THE UNITED NATIONS BY THE CITY OF MANILA. ON INTERNATIONAL DAY, 10 JULY 1951, THE UNITED NATIONS FLAG WAS RAISED HERE BY TWO VETERANS WOUNDED IN THE KOREAN WAR, T/S NICOMEDES GUMACAY AND PFC. MARCELINO CARABALLO, TENTH BATALLION COMBAT TEAM, ASSISTED BY SECRETARY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS CARLOS P. ROMULO, PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED NATIONS GENERAL ASSEMBLY.
