THE SIGNING OF THE TERMS OF CAPITULATION
IN THIS HOUSE, AT 5:00 O’CLOCK IN THE AFTERNOON OF NOVEMBER 6, 1898, THE TERMS OF CAPITULATION WAS SIGNED BETWEEN THE SPANISH AND FILIPINO REPRESENTATIVES SIGNIFYING THE END OF SPANISH RULE IN THE ISLAND OF NEGROS.
THE SPANISH GOVERNMENT WAS REPRESENTED BY ISIDRO DE CASTRO, POLITICO-MILITARY GOVERNOR OF NEGROS, PROVINCIAL FISCAL MANUEL ABENZA, ADMINISTRATOR OF PUBLIC LANDS RAMON ARMANDO, PROVINCIAL REGISTRAR EMILIO MONASTERIO AND NOTARY PUBLIC DOMINGO URETA. THE FILIPINO SIGNERS WERE GENERAL ANICETO LACSON, GENERAL JUAN ARANETA, JOSE MONTILLA AND SIMEON LIZARES.
