MANSION HOUSE
CONSTRUCTED 1908 AS THE SUMMER RESIDENCE OF THE AMERICAN GOVERNORS-GENERAL AND LATER THE RESIDENCE OF PRESIDENTS OF THE PHILIPPINES. DESTROYED DURING THE BATTLE FOR THE LIBERATION OF THE PHILIPPINES, 1945; RECONSTRUCTED AND IMPROVED, 1947. SEAT OF THE SECOND SESSION OF ECONOMIC COMMISSION OF ASIA AND THE FAR EAST (ECAFE), 1947; THE SECOND SESSION OF FOOD AND AGRICULTURE ORGANIZATION (FAO), 1948; AND THE FIRST MEETING OF THE SOUTH EAST ASIA UNION (SEAU) POPULARLY KNOWN AS THE BAGUIO CONFERENCE OF 1950, CONCEIVED AND CONVENED BY PRESIDENT ELPIDIO QUIRINO.
