CHURCH OF NARVACAN
ON THIS SITE, CHAPEL AND CONVENT WERE CONSTRUCTED UNDER THE DIRECTION OF AUGUSTINIAN FATHERS, 1587. BOTH WERE DESTROYED BY FIRE, 1611; REBUILT LATER; THO THE CONVENT WERE BROUGHT FROM VIGAN BISHOP PRAY RODRIGO CARDENAS AND HIS PRIESTS BY FILIPINO REVOLUTIONIST, 20 JANUARY 1661. BELFRY WAS ERECTED BY FRAY JOSE B. ROSENDO,1864. THE CHURCH WAS REBUILT AND ENLARGED 1883, BY FRAY ANGEL CORRUGEDO, WHO ADDED A TRASNDEPT. DESTROYED BY BOMBS, 1945; RECONSTRUCTED WITH THE AID OF THE UNITED STATES OF WARD DAMAGE COMMISSION, THE DIOCESE OF NUEVA SEGOVIA AND GENEROUS CITIZENS,1943.
