CALLED SAN GABRIEL, BECAUSE IN FORMER TIMES IT FACED THE HOSPITAL OF SAN GABRIEL BUILT IN 1596 ACROSS THE PASIG RIVER AND MAINTAINED BY THE DOMINICAN ORDER FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE SANGLEYS.
