COLEGIO DE SAN ALBERTO MAGNO
THIS WAS THE SITE OF THE COLLEGE OF SAN ALBERTO MAGNO, CONSTRUCTED BY THE DOMINICANS IN 1892 FOR THE EDUCATION OF YOUNG MEN. THIS COLLEGE CLOSED DURING THE PHILIPPINE REVOLUTION. IT REOPENED IN 1903, BUT IN 1924 IT WAS TURNED OVER TO THE RECENTLY FOUNDED CONGREGACION DE MISIONERAS DE SANTO DOMINGO TO BE USED AS A SCHOOL FOR GIRLS. THE FOUNDATIONS OF THE BUILDING WERE SO UNDERMINED BY THE FLOOD OF AUGUST 1935 THAT THE EDIFICE HAD TO BE DEMOLISHED.
