APPLYING FOR PLAN REVIEW/CLEARANCE OF PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT OF HISTORIC SITES AND STRUCTURES

Pursuant to Article 3, Section 5d, 5e, and 5f of the National Cultural Heritage Act of 2009, any site or structure dating at least 50 years old, or a work of a national hero or a site or structure marked by the classified as such shall be protected from any modification or demolition, hence, any proposals for redeveloping or modifying it shall receive a clearance from the NHCP through the HSSDC

Refer to the steps involved in this process below

Step 1: Submission of Requirements

All developments affecting declared and marked historic sites/structures such as National Historical Landmarks, National Shrines, Historic Center/Heritage Zones, Heritage Houses, National Historical Sites; and all structures fifty (50) years and above are required:

A. For the purpose of assessment and evaluation of this Commission, the following documents must be submitted:

1. Scope of work and reasons identifying the nature of interventions;
2. AS-FOUND plan;
a) Photo documentation of existing site conditions
b) Building/structure condition survey
c) Location/vicinity map showing the impact of the proposed development to
historic sites and/or structures within one (1) kilometer radius;
3. Proposed development plan

B. Both the as-built plan and proposed development plans should contain these drawings according to the scope of work of the project:

1. Architectural:
a) Perspective drawing(s);
b) Floor plans;
c) Elevations;
d) Sections;
Engineering plans (if available): a) Structural;
b) Electrical;
c) Mechanical; and
d) Plumbing

Step 2: Processing

The request will be facilitated by the HSSDC and shall be raised to the NHCP Board Meeting for review and approval/disapproval.

A cover letter addressed to the Chairman of the National Historical Commission of the Philippines should be included in the documents to be submitted and should be sent to:
